Michael Biggs MA PhD FRSA FDRS RPHEA is Professor of Aesthetics, Reader in Visual Communication, and Associate Dean Research for the Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Hertfordshire [UH], UK. He has degrees in both Fine Art and Philosophy, and was Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy at the University of Bergen in 1994. He was elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1989 and Fellow of the Design Research Society in 2006. In 2006/7 he will be Guest Professor in Practice-based Research in Architecture and Design at the Universities of Lund, Göteborg and Stockholm, at the invitation of the Swedish Research Council.
